Trek through the heart of the Himalayas to the legendary Everest Base Camp, following ancient Sherpa trails beneath the world’s highest peaks. This iconic journey weaves through vibrant mountain villages, prayer-flag-lined passes, and awe-inspiring alpine landscapes, all set against the backdrop of Mount Everest, Lhotse, and Ama Dablam. With thoughtful acclimatization, expert local guides, and a strong focus on cultural connection and personal growth, this trek is as much an inner journey as it is a physical one. Reaching Base Camp is a powerful milestone—earned step by step, together.

**Please note, these adventures are planned far in advance, and sometimes things come up that are unforeseen or unplanned. With that forethought, know the group will be accompanied on this adventure by Keith, or Michelle, and/or More Adventures Ambassador.

Day 1 HIGHLIGHTS

Welcome to Kathmandu, where vibrant markets, sacred temples, and ornate pagodas pulse with life at every turn. Upon arrival, you’ll be warmly greeted and escorted into the heart of the city, where the rest of the day is yours to wander nearby streets, browse for last-minute gear, and soak in your first taste of Nepal’s energy—before receiving details for the adventure ahead.

Day 2 HIGHLIGHTS

Spend the day immersed in the cultural soul of Kathmandu, beginning with a short trek orientation before stepping out to explore its timeless treasures. Wander through sacred and storied landmarks, including the revered Pashupatinath Temple and the serene, watchful eyes of Boudhanath Stupa, before settling in for another evening in the city. Breakfast included.

Day 3 HIGHLIGHTS

Before dawn, you’ll leave Kathmandu for a scenic drive to Ramechap, where a short but unforgettable flight carries you deep into the Himalayas and lands dramatically in Lukla. From there, the journey unfolds on foot—winding past mountain villages, forested trails, and the rushing Dudh Koshi River—until you arrive in the peaceful riverside settlement of Phakding for your first night on the trail.

Day 4 HIGHLIGHTS

Set out after breakfast along the rushing Dudh Kosi, crossing a series of swaying suspension bridges and weaving through villages like Tok-Tok, Benkar, and Monjo before entering Sagarmatha National Park. A final climb beyond the famed Hillary Suspension Bridge brings you to Namche Bazaar, a lively mountain amphitheater where trekkers gather, stories are shared, and the high Himalayas begin to feel thrillingly close.

Day 5 HIGHLIGHTS

Today you’ll stay in Namche Bazaar to acclimatize, trading rest for gentle exploration with a scenic hike toward the famed Everest View Hotel for your first sweeping glimpse of the high peaks. Back in Namche Bazaar, the lively heart of the Khumbu, you can wander vibrant markets and cozy cafés, soaking in the mountain atmosphere as your body adjusts to the altitude.

Day 6 HIGHLIGHTS

Leaving Namche Bazaar, the trail contours high above the valley with sweeping views of Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, Ama Dablam, and Thamserku rising in brilliant silence. Crossing the Imja River and passing through the spiritual haven of Tengboche, you’ll continue on to Debouche, where the mountains feel closer, the air crisper, and the journey ever more extraordinary.

Day 7 HIGHLIGHTS

From Debouche, the trail climbs steadily through Pangboche and onward past Somare and Orsho, where the landscape begins to open into a vast, windswept valley. Crossing a final bridge and ascending toward Dingboche, you’ll arrive in a broad mountain settlement framed by towering peaks—a rewarding pause as the altitude rises and the Himalayas feel ever more immense.

Day 8 HIGHLIGHTS

Today in Dingboche, you’ll climb high above the valley on an acclimatization hike toward Nagarjuna Hill, gaining elevation as the air grows thinner and the views more extraordinary. From the heights, a sweeping panorama unfolds—Everest, Lhotse, Ama Dablam, Island Peak, Tawache, and Pumori rising in every direction—before you return to Dingboche to rest beneath their towering presence.

Day 9 HIGHLIGHTS

Departing Dingboche, the trail winds beneath towering peaks before climbing steadily toward Thukla and the windswept pass beyond. Near the edge of the Khumbu Glacier, you’ll pass solemn memorials to Everest’s climbers, then continue on to the stark, high-altitude outpost of Lobuche, where the landscape feels raw, powerful, and breathtakingly close to the roof of the world.

Day 10 HIGHLIGHTS

Today’s journey leads you from the stark outpost of Gorak Shep across rocky moraines and alongside the shifting ice of the Khumbu Glacier toward the legendary Everest Base Camp. Standing at the foot of the world’s highest peak, surrounded by towering हिमालय (Himalayas) giants and the raw beauty of the glacier, is a moment few forget—before you retrace your steps back to Gorak Shep, carrying the thrill of having reached the base of Everest itself.

Day 11 HIGHLIGHTS

For those feeling strong, the morning offers a climb to Kala Patthar, where the effort is met with unforgettable, up-close views of Everest and the surrounding giants rising in every direction. After soaking in the panorama, you’ll descend from the high alpine world, retracing your steps past Gorak Shep and continuing down to the quieter valley of Pheriche, where the air feels richer and the journey begins to soften.

Day 12 HIGHLIGHTS

Trek from Pheriche to Tengboche

Trek from Pheriche (4,300 m) to Tengboche (3,867 m). Duration 5 – 6 hours.

The trail today descends considerably. We retrace our trail back from Somare into Lower Pangboche, and then into forested Debouche.  As we approach Tengboche from Debouche, the vegetation changes and grows greener with pine forests.  Finally, we reach Tengboche with its lively atmosphere, good food, better Wi-Fi, and beer.

Day 13 HIGHLIGHTS

Today you’ll retrace your steps back to Namche Bazaar, descending through forested trails and familiar villages like Phunki Thanga and Sanasa as the peaks slowly recede behind you. Arriving once more in the lively heart of the Khumbu, the afternoon is yours to wander, relax, and savor your return to Namche Bazaar at a gentler pace.

Day 14 HIGHLIGHTS

Your final trekking day leads you back toward Lukla, passing once more through familiar villages like Monjo, Benkar, and Phakding as the trail gently unwinds. With the mountains behind you and memories of the journey still fresh, you’ll return to Lukla for a well-earned afternoon of rest—and perhaps a celebratory evening to mark the adventure you’ve just accomplished.

Day 15 HIGHLIGHTS

This morning, you’ll take a flight from Lukla to Ramechap, followed by a scenic drive that winds through the hills back to Kathmandu. By late afternoon, you’ll arrive in the bustling city, where the rhythms of Nepal greet you once again.

Today is yours to wander the streets of Kathmandu, discovering markets, temples, and hidden corners at your own pace—or to rest and wait if mountain weather delays the next leg of your journey. Breakfast is included as the city’s energy carries you through the day.
