By afternoon, you arrive at the lush forests of Nyungwe National Park, where the day slows and the rainforest atmosphere begins to settle in.
Day 3 HIGHLIGHTS
Ease into the morning before heading deep into Nyungwe Forest in search of its most famous residents—chimpanzees hidden within the canopy. Later, trade the forest floor for the treetops on the canopy walk, where sweeping views stretch across the lush rainforest before you return to unwind for the evening.
Day 4 HIGHLIGHTS
After breakfast, journey toward Kibuye on the shores of Lake Kivu, pausing at the Karongi Environmental Museum for a glimpse into Rwanda’s natural story. Spend the afternoon gliding across Lake Kivu by boat, visiting islands like Napoleon Island and Amahoro Island, watching fishermen at work and birds overhead before continuing on to Gisenyi for a relaxed lakeside evening.
Day 5 HIGHLIGHTS
After a leisurely morning, travel from Rwanda into Uganda via the Cyanika Border, making your way toward the legendary Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. En route, pause for a moving Batwa cultural experience, then continue on to the shores near Lake Mutanda to settle in for a restful evening ahead of your time in gorilla country.
