I’ll admit it: even as a coach, I occasionally battle with my own inner doubts and negative self-talk. There was this one dream that seemed almost too big to be realistic, but it was so important to me that I couldn’t afford to let those doubts hold me back. So, I decided to take action and make it happen.
I began by crafting a clear, step-by-step plan to achieve my dream. This plan became my roadmap to success, and I was excited to put it into action. And guess what? It wasn’t long before I started seeing significant progress. I was proud of what I had accomplished in such a short time.
However, just as things were moving forward at full speed, everything came to a sudden stop. My commitment to myself wavered, and I found myself dreading the very process that I had once been so enthusiastic about. The things I used to look forward to weren’t enjoyable anymore, and that burning desire to persevere through challenges had fizzled out.
It was at this point that I had a heart-to-heart conversation with myself, and I finally pinpointed the issue. The problem wasn’t the plan or the work itself; the issue was that I had neglected my mindset.
When everything was going smoothly, I had grown comfortable. I stopped engaging in the habits that had initially inspired and motivated me. I had stopped listening to podcasts, reading books, and watching videos that fueled my positivity, focus, and excitement for progress. As I became less attentive to these crucial habits, my journey began to unravel.
It was a revelation: it all starts with your mindset!
So, I ask you this: What are you doing to keep yourself inspired every day? How are you maintaining your focus? Have you made it a priority, or have you grown too comfortable in your routine?
Here’s a challenge for you: Make it a daily habit to read, watch, or listen to something that inspires you, even if it’s just for 5-10 minutes. This simple practice can yield remarkable compound returns on your investment in yourself.
